How much do short-distance movers charge?
In Chicago, the price is the same as it is across the country: $140 per hour for two professional movers, including a truck. Movers swiftly wrap your furniture with moving blankets and then use shrink wrap and tape for better protection. All the materials are charged according to the prices, which are $2 for tape, $3 for a small box, and $20 for a big one, such as a TV box.
Short-distance moving companies in Chicago have a three-hour minimum charge policy, so no matter how big or small the job is, we still have a three-hour minimum charge that will be applied to your move. We do this because we have to pay our employees for a minimum of three hours to come and do the job.
What is travel time?
Travel time will be added for getting to your location and from your location back to the parking lot, so it’s very important to do your research about where the moving company is located. Contact moving companies near you for a quote so you don’t have to pay any extra charges for travel time.
How Will the Movers Do the Job for You?
Born to Move will bring a truck based on the list of items you have. Also, the movers will bring all the packing supplies for better protection, including blankets, shrink wrap, and commercial bin boxes. Everything that we need to use will be applied to your job. We don’t provide a flat price; only an hourly rate will be applied. Born to Move will have an incremental policy of 15 minutes after the first three hours.
On the moving date
Born to Move will come to your apartment or house for a short-distance move. We will wrap the furniture, disassemble your couch, and load it onto the truck.
Please note that all boxes must be packed up well before the movers arrive. When the truck reaches your new destination, our guys will swiftly bring the furniture inside the apartment and unload the boxes. All you have to do is pay.
You can pay with a credit card, a certified check, or cash.
Our moving company starts at 9 a.m., or we can start in the afternoon between 1 and 3 p.m. We can also start between 3 and 5 p.m., based on your preferences. Just let us know when you need to move.
